1 of 10 – COLORADO SHIRAS' MOOSE

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it is our honor to present you with what will likely be Colorado’s new number one Shiras’ moose, which also comes in at number six overall. Mark Litzelman killed this amazing bull with a muzzleloader at 216 yards on public land. The entry score needs to be confirmed, but that’s only half the story. He was hunting with his 80-year-old grandfather, Grizz, who has also accompanied Mark on hunts for desert bighorn, Rocky Mountain goat, elk, deer, and bear. “He’s been my mentor and the person I look up to since I could remember,” says Mark.

4 of 10 – NEW MEXICO PRONGHORN

Let’s say it’s early August in Arizona, and the air temperature is around 100 degrees. Few hunters would pick up their bow for a pronghorn hunt—even fewer would come home with this behemoth. Eli Grimmett isn’t like most hunters. He’s got no less than seven pronghorn entries in the book since 2000, according to Big Game Records LIVE. Believe it or not, this is his second-best pronghorn. With just two months left in the 31st Awards Entry Period, Grimmett's pronghorn is the fourth largest entered and may qualify to be invited to the Club's 31st Big Game Awards Judges Panel and Trophy Display.

5 of 10 – CALIFORNIA TULE ELK

Even with a broken G-3 on the right side, James Jenzano’s tule elk made the record book, scoring more than 304 points—well north of the minimum entry score of 270. He made a 180-yard shot with his 300 Winchester Short Mag on an overcast December day. His bull may qualify for invitation to the Club's 31st Big Game Awards Judges Panel and Trophy Display. The top 5 for each category are invited and Jenzano's tule elk sits at the third spot as of November 15, 2021.

6 of 10 – MONTANA BLACK BEAR

It’s not very often a hunter can come from out of state, take his .338 Ruger for a walk behind an old gated logging road, and return with a new state record. But that’s just what Ian Chase-Dunn did. With a new Montana state record black bear by just 1/16, he takes the top spot with the only record book entry from Mineral County in the far northwestern portion of Montana. To be fair, Ian Chase-Dunn isn’t your typical bear hunter. He has 13 black bear Boone and Crockett entries to his credit, according to Big Game Records LIVE. This is his first state record.

7 of 10 – WEST VIRGINIA TYPICAL WHITETAIL DEER

8 of 10 – NUNAVUT MUSKOX

An animal that thrives in one of the world’s toughest environments, the musk ox is the symbol of adventure for those seeking to truly get out there. To hunt them, you travel to far northern Canada by plane and boat. Then, you walk the tundra. J. Douglas Giffin found his adventure hunting musk ox near Contwoyto Lake in Nunavut, Canada. His .300 Winchester Magnum found its mark in August 2019. With just two months remaining for entries to be submitted for the 31st Awards Entry Period, Giffin's bull looks to make the top 5, qualifying it for invitation to the 31st Big Game Awards Judges Panel and Trophy Display.

9 of 10 – ALASKA NON-TYPICAL SITKA BLACKTAIL DEER

On a sunny, 30-degree Alaska day, Jamie Lockart used her .270 to take this stud. This public land blacktail she took in October of 2020 nearly broke the top 10 non-typical Sitka’s of all time, currently sitting at the 11th spot. Lockhart's buck is currently ranked as the fourth largest for the 31st Awards Entry Period. If it holds with less than two months remaining, her Sitka blacktail will qualify to attend the 31st Big Game Awards Judges Panel and Trophy Display.

10 of 10 – SOUTH DAKOTA NON-TYPICAL MULE DEER

South Dakota isn’t exactly known for huge mule deer. In fact, the state hasn’t seen a non-typical mule in the top five spots since 1949, according to Big Game Records LIVE. No one bothered to tell Tanner Swanson. With his .270, he connected on this brute in mid-November 2019. This mule deer had so many points that its score chart needed an addendum.
