Dallas Safari Club Joins the Boone and Crockett Clubs 30th Big Game Awards

The Dallas Safari Club has joined the growing list of sponsors for one of North America's longest-running celebrations of big game conservation and management - the Boone and Crockett Club's 30th Big Game Awards, scheduled for August 1-3, 2019, in Springfield, Missouri.

A triennial event, the 30th Big Game Awards is being hosted by Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's and will take place at the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium in Springfield. Visitors to the museum will be treated to an exhibition of outstanding trophies taken in fair chase over the past three years, including at least one new World's Record, state records, and Top-Five trophies representing 33 different categories of native North American big game. The exhibit will also feature records book specimens taken by young sportsmen age 16 and under.

"Every once in a while it's a good idea to reflect on the achievements sportsmen have made in recovering and conserving big game species and their habitats," said Boone and Crockett Club President Timothy C. Brady. The healthy game populations we have today didn't happen by chance or by a natural process, as many people now believe or are being led to believe. It took purpose and commitment primarily by members of the hunter -conservationist community. Our Big Game Awards celebrate this fact."

The public exhibit within the museum will be open from May through August 3. More than 140 outstanding specimens are expected.

That being said it follows that the manner in which habitat and big game are managed in North America would have a significant influence on wildlife conservation internationally. The Dallas Safari Club has had an extremely positive impact on game management globally and we couldn't be more pleased to have this leading international hunting and conservation organization join us in this celebration."

Boone and Crockett Club began keeping trophy records in 1906 as a way of detailing species once headed for extinction. Today, trophy data reflect population health and habitat quality. Biologists compare and contrast records to improve local management strategies as well as state and federal wildlife polices.

The Dallas Safari Club joins Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's, the Wild Sheep Foundation, and Federal Premium Ammunition as 30th Big Game Awards sponsors.
