Odds of keeping your trophy dreams alive while browsing the newest Records of North American Whitetail Deer book from Boone and Crockett Club: Well, let's just say these odds are exponentially better.

The most complete book of trophy records and info on America’s favorite game species will be released October 2012 in its fifth edition from the world’s foremost authority on native North American big game records keeping.

Records of North American Whitetail Deer now contains detailed tabular listings of 12,254 whitetail trophies ranked according to their all-time Boone and Crockett scores. An incredible 4,692 entries, including 34 new state and provincial records for whitetails, have been added since the previous edition (2003). Each entry includes location of kill and other details of interest to hunters, wildlife managers and conservationists.

“We are living in the ‘Golden Age of Whitetail Deer Hunting.’ Doubt it? Look at the size of this book and especially the many listings for trophy bucks taken recently from across the whitetail’s range—truly a huge success story for North American big game management!” said Larry Weishuhn, professional member of Boone and Crockett Club, hunter, wildlife biologist, outdoor writer and television host known as “Mr. Whitetail.”

Bill Jordan, Realtree designer and president, said, “To me, this book represents the values we as sportsmen place on the game we hunt and the time-honored tradition of hunting itself. Such outstanding animals would not be in existence today if it were not for these values.”

Also included in Records of North American Whitetail Deer are photos of standout specimens plus chapters written by top authorities on whitetails. New insights on deer breeding behavior, emerging technology and its affects on whitetail conservation, new deer management strategies east and west, regional trends in trophy whitetail production, and more are covered.

Records of North American Whitetail Deer is hardcover, 8 x 10 inches. The book retails for $34.95 (Boone and Crockett Club members receive a discount) and will be available in stores or directly from the Club.

Boone and Crockett Club maintains the highest standards in fair-chase sportsmanship, habitat stewardship and wildlife management—and has documented their impacts on conservation through big-game records that date back to the late 1880s.
