As a registered guide and outfitter from Chisana, Alaska, Larry Folger knew the area where this grizzly prowled. Michael Demler identified the rifle as a Winchester 1895, likely in .405, with an upgraded Lyman peep sight and hooded front. B&C SCORE: 24-14/16 B&C points
3. UTAH 1940
This is Milton Hunt back with an absolute specimen of a Utah mule deer. According to the original score chart, the buck had a 45-inch spread and 41 points. On Facebook, one commenter noted that his great-grandfather bought the gun from Milton, and it was eventually passed down to him. He says it's a .300 Savage Model 99.4. Wyoming 1935
H.S. Compton killed this pronghorn 20 miles southwest of Cody. The Facebook consensus claims that this is most definitely a Remington Model 8, likely in a .35 caliber. We tend to agree.5. Alaska 1936
George B. Petty was hunting with his buddies on the Kenai Peninsula when he killed this great Alaska-Yukon moose. Input from our Facebook friends maintains that this rifle is a Model 1908 Mannlicher Shoenaur, with the trigger and the split receiver being the giveaway.
6. Colorado 1905

7. Colorado 1876
Martha Ann Maxwell was a naturalist who helped create modern-day taxidermy, influencing early Boone and Crockett Club members and taxidermists Carl Akeley and William Hornaday. Regarding the rifle, one Facebook commenter wrote that the ammo on this Evans Repeating rifle "feeds through the stock via 'Archemedian screw' and the internal mechanism is similar to the Spencer…. Only the hammer is internal on these rifles."8. Canada 1915
